The men listed below represent the best of the best in conservative leadership in the
once great state of New Jersey. They promote conservative ideas proudly , unabashedly and with remarkable intestinal fortitude. They are true Republicans. Whether its voting against the biggest expansion of Medicare in history, fighting against moral and financial ills of stem cell research and bloated government, withstanding threats of imprisonment for their beliefs, or just fighting the good fight day in day out, these gentleman are in a class of their own.
We here at the Consortium salute them and offer our deepest appreciation and gratitude for their service. They deserve and will receive our support in their endeavors.
Congressman Garrett was first elected to congress in 2002,. He serves on the House Financial Services and Budget Committees. He is a member of the Financial Services Subcommittees on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises; Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit; and Housing and Community Opportunity. He is also an active member of the Republican Study Committee.
Having a real conservative leader serving New Jersey's 5th congressional district is quite refreshing. He is never afraid to stand alone in a crowd of 435 congressmen and women when fighting for our conservative principles. Scott has earned a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union for his efforts. The good congressman trounced each of the socialists that have ran against him by double digit percentage points. His mainstream pro-family, tax- cutting, conservative message clearly
resonates with the voters of his district.
Congressman Garrett once again destroyed his liberal opposition this past 2008 election cycle. Garrett is currently serving his fourth term in the House of Representatiives and was selected as the Ranking Member of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Capitol Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises.
Mayor Lonegan served as Mayor of Bogota for three consecutive terms in an overwhelmingly democratic town. He was first elected in 1995 and his last year in office was 2007.
He is the Executive Director of Americans for Prosperity in NJ. In that role he defeated 2 ballot questions that would have added billions and billions of dollars in state debt. He currently serves as a major thorn in the side of the liberal democrats and Party Crashers. He continualy attempts to clean up the liberal train wreck in Trenton commonly known as the State Legislature. It's a shame that he is usualy alone in his endeavors as the Party Crashers(formerly known as RINO'S) in the state legislature remain impotent.
Nobody knows the the issues nor the solutions to NJ's fiscal woes better than Steve Lonegan. Taking the people where they want to go is easy...taking them where they should go is the role of a leader. The taxpayers of this once great state of New Jersey need to follow this leader all the way to the state house in 2009. If you want to downsize privatize and prioritize-This is your guy. He is a fierce defender of the NJ taxpayer and
we are happy to see him running for governor in 09'.
Assemblyman Doherty was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 2001. He serves in the Assembly on the Appropriations Committee and the Labor Committee. The assemblyman has carried the conservative mantle on many issues such as preserving the institution of marriage, battling against taxpayer funded stem cell research, and fighting to get taxpayer approval for any debt issued by local and county governments.
As Warren County Freeholder some years ago he also almost got thrown in jail by a Superior Court Judge for voting against a $5 million bonding scheme. Thanks to former Freeholder Doherty, Warren County now has the lowest debt of any county in the state.

Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1995. He currently sits on the Higher Education and Housing and Local Government committees. Assemblyman Carroll is uncompromising in his beliefs of limited government, peronal responsibility strong families and local control.

Assemblyman Richard Merkt was first elected to the New Jersey Legislature in 1998. He currently serves on the Appropriations and Higher Education committees as well as the Intergovernmental relations Commission.
The assemblyman can always be counted on to be a strong voice for conservative values and common sense when battling the absurdity and largesse of the most socialist legislature in the union.
We wish the Asemblyman the best in his gubernatorial primary contest, even though Lonegan is our horse in this race. We hope Assemblyman Merkt's first state wide run for office will serve as a launching pad for a future staewide run.
Assemblyman Jay Webber is a true freshman member of the New Jersey General Assembly. He was just elected this past fall and took office in January of 2008. Jay sits on the Labor and State Government committees and is the current Chairman of the Taxpayer Protection Caucus.
He brings much needed young blood into the N.J. Assembly. Jay brings with him a conservative arsenal of ideas and principles with which to fight the growth of government and put the Financial Genius and his cronies at bay.We look forward to supporting him during his tenure in the swamp.
